Mukono Diocese is a Faith Based Organization and an integral part of the Province of the Church of Uganda Anglican. Its Secretariat is located in the heart of Mukono Municipality about 18Kms from Kampala City along Jinja High Way in Uganda
The Diocesan over all mandate is to inspire and enhance the preaching and spreading of the Gospel and to harmonize such divinity with community development.
Mukono Diocese was established in 1984 and covers four districts in Uganda that include: Mukono, Kayunga, Buikwe and Buvuma including many islands on Lake Victoria.
The Diocese has a population density of 1,250,000 people and about 700,000 Christians of the Anglican Faith (National Census Report 2002). Mukono Diocese is distributed into 6 Archdeaconries that include: Seeta, Ngogwe, Ndeeba, Bukoba, Nakibizzi and the Cathedral Deanery. The Diocese has a wealth of over 1,000 Hectares of Land, 40 Parishes, 420 Churches, 60 Priests, 420 lay Readers and one presiding Bishop the Rt. Rev. James William Ssebaggala.
